About Us
Troop Pack 555 is located in Knoxville, Tennessee.
We are part of the Toqua District in the Great Smoky Mountain Council
of the Boy Scouts of America. We are made up of a group of boys that
are eager to explorer the great outdoors. The Troop emphasizes participation of each scout,
involvement at all levels and fun.
The promises of scouting:
-
SCOUTING promises you the great outdoors.
-
SCOUTING promises you friendship.
-
SCOUTING promises you opportunities to work toward the Eagle
Scout rank.
-
SCOUTING promises you tools to help you make the most of
your family, your community, and your nation.
The adult leadership of Troop 555 believes in maintaining a quality troop in
the Farragut/Knoxville community that fosters, along with parents, mentors,
teachers, and church leaders, an environment where young men can;
-
Learn essentials of leadership,
-
Build the desirable qualities of character,
-
Train in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, and
-
Develop personal fitness.
The standards that we place on the young men in this troop are rigorous for
rank advancement. They will be proud of their rank achievements when they
receive them because they have earned them.
We have a very active schedule. We believe that school, Scouts and other
activities (church, sports, band, and extra-curricular activities) are
compatible and complimentary. Participation in multiple activities fosters
the concept of time management. We strongly encourage Scouts to
participate is some type of church, sports, and humanities (band, drama,
chorus, .etc) program as a part of their overall development. As a result, we
recognize that Scouts will not be able to make every troop meeting,
campout, workdays, or other troop activities.
We are thrilled to have the
Faith Lutheran Church as our chartered organization. They are located
in West Knoxville at:
